During its January 28th board meeting, the California Film Commission welcomed four newly appointed board members: Hilary Armstrong, President of Fire of Life Films; Fred Baron, Executive Vice President of Feature Production at 20th Century Fox; Lindy DeKoven, President of DeKoven Entertainment; and Aaron McLear, Former Press Secretary for Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. Also new to the board is California Assemblymember Anthony Portantino (D-La Canada/Flintridge).

Exiting Governator Names His Flack To California Film Commission
It wasn't enough that the Guvernator Ah-nuld mucked up California. On New Year's Eve, Schwarzenegger made a slew of last-day political appointments and re-appointments in a smoke-filled room, and put his 3-year press secretary Aaron McLear on the California Film Commission. Others in the unsalaried positions include TV veteran Lindy DeKoven, former NBC Entertainment EVP, and Moulin Rouge producer Fred Baron, EVP of feature production for Twentieth Century Fox.

Yet when she took that position, friends sought to provide perspective by presenting her with a little chair that she kept on her desk, bearing a plaque that read, "The power's in the chair."
